Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stewart Peterson (ranked 4439 p4p, 4411 weight class) and Evelio Uray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stewart Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Evelio Uray! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson darts in looking for a takedown but Uray gets double underhooks and turns Peterson into the cage. Peterson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Uray is defending well. Uray gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Uray drops back looking for a leg! Peterson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Peterson manages to kick Uray off! Uray jumps back into Peterson's guard. Uray thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Peterson keeping full guard, as Uray tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Uray is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Peterson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Peterson has escaped and now he's on top!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peterson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Peterson throws a big right hand that misses. Peterson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson wants to pass the guard but Uray is keeping the position. Peterson throwing strikes but missing. Peterson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Uray trying to keep a closed guard but Peterson is proving a slippery customer.
Peterson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Uray is adopting a defensive guard. Peterson looking to pass the guard. Peterson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Peterson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Uray not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Uray is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Peterson working some strikes from top position. Peterson preventing the sweep. Peterson is fighting to break Uray's control of his arms but Uray is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Peterson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Peterson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Peterson is stalling in the full guard. Peterson with a nice head shot there. Uray is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Uray can't keep his opponent in guard - Peterson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Peterson is keen to just control but Uray is a slippery customer. Peterson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Uray slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Peterson stands up over Uray, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Uray wants to sweep here but Peterson controlling him for the moment. Uray not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Uray looks winded! Peterson trying to control but Uray is working from the bottom. Peterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uray swivels though and keeps the full guard. Peterson is working hard here to advance position. Uray keeping moving, preventing Peterson from controlling successfully. Uray looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Peterson is looking to work some ground and pound but Uray has wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Peterson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Peterson cracks Uray with a solid left hand. Peterson scoring with punches to the head and body. Uray utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Uray is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Uray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Uray tries to land a sweep but no joy. Uray can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Peterson controls the pace. Peterson is in close to Uray's body, working some short punches and elbows. Peterson landing with the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Peterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uray swivels though and keeps the full guard. Peterson pushes down on Uray's leg and manages to get into half guard. Peterson tries to pass to full mount but Uray defends it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Stewart Peterson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Uray defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Peterson. Uray appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Peterson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Uray did well to prevent Peterson getting side control. Peterson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Peterson connects with a nice short shot to Uray's temple. Uray tries to get to full guard but Peterson has control of the leg. Peterson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Uray is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Uray makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Uray. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peterson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Uray keeping full guard, as Peterson tries to pass. Peterson content to stall in guard here. Uray is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson advances position into side control! A lull in the action here as Peterson stalls from top position. Peterson grinds an elbow into Uray's temple. Peterson cracks Uray with a big right hand but Uray just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Uray is looking to reverse the position. Uray is breathing heavily. Peterson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Uray takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Peterson trying to control the position but Uray is working away. Uray is trying to improve his position. Peterson lands some shots froms side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peterson looks up at the clock and then as Uray takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Peterson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Peterson slows the pace down. Peterson wants to control but Uray is keeping him busy. Peterson in side control lands a decent elbow. Peterson scoring with punches and elbows. Uray is working to avoid the ground and pound but Peterson connects with a decent elbow.
Uray is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Peterson lands an elbow. Uray is still in real trouble! Can Peterson finish him? Peterson scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Uray is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Peterson can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
