Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Sonnen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ibrahim avoids it really well and circles away. And Ibrahim tries to counter it with a takedown but Sonnen pushes his down on his head and steps out. Ibrahim shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ibrahim showed some decent athleticism there. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ibrahim in particular looking to stall. Sonnen tries to get to full guard but Ibrahim has control of the leg. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We've been hearing good reports from Sonnen's training camp. Let's hope that Ibrahim has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Sonnen manages to get back to half guard. Still in half guard, Ibrahim seems content to control. Sonnen wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sonnen is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ibrahim wants to free his trapped foot but Sonnen is holding on for dear life with his legs. Ibrahim is thwarting Sonnen's attempts to control the position. It looks like Ibrahim might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Sonnen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Sonnen is holding onto Ibrahim's left hand, preventing any choke attempts.

Ibrahim is cranking Sonnen's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Sonnen! He's tightened the choke and Sonnen is tapping out!
