Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Esposito (ranked 2779 p4p, 4306 weight class) and Misao Shimada (ranked 0 p4p, 341 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Misao Shimada was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esposito will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Shimada scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Esposito doesn't seem bothered though.
Shimada waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Esposito.
Esposito shoots in looking for a takedown but Shimada manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Esposito's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shimada! But no joy.
Shimada misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Esposito.
Esposito shoots in for a takedown but Shimada shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo Esposito. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shimada misses with a left hand
and Esposito counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shimada won't be happy with that.

Shimada tries to buck Esposito off but Esposito is having none of it.
Esposito landing a few strikes.
Esposito throws an elbow but Shimada slips to the side and avoids it well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shimada tries to improve position but can't.
Esposito lands some shots froms side control.
Esposito will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Esposito has an Americana. Shimada didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Esposito is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Esposito hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Pablo Esposito!
