This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Tyson Law! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 19 losses; Mark Merel! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Law closes the distance and clinches. Merel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Law uses from the top position. Law drops back looking for a leg! Merel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Merel manages to kick Law off! Law jumps back into Merel's guard. We've been hearing good reports from Law's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Law is looking for a kimura but Merel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Law to get the leverage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Law is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Merel doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Law. Law is working for a submission of some sort.

My spies in Glory 4 Boxing inform me that Merel has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Merel trying to mount his opponent but Law defends it. Merel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Merel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Merel trying to control but Law is working from the bottom.
