Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wiremu West (ranked 2119 p4p, 2706 weight class) and Dean Stomp (ranked 186 p4p, 230 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wiremu West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dean Stomp!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stomp looks to land a right hand but West moved out of range.
West looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A big right from Stomp misses.
Stomp throws a one two combo.
West looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stomp is fending him off so far but West persists. Nope, Stomp circles away and we're back to standing.
Stomp tries to bum rush West with a series of wild strikes but West uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
West closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - West lands in his opponent's guard.
Stomp has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but West can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Stomp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with West. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stomp postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! West is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stomp, into his guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stomp is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! West has his hands clasped together but Stomp extends and breaks West's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Stomp.
