Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Dann (ranked 4546 p4p, 4603 weight class) and Erick Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charlie Dann has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Charlie Dann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Erick Wright! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wright drives through with a takedown into guard. Wright throwing strikes from guard but Dann blocks nicely. Wright is stalling in the full guard. It looks like Wright might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dann really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright works a leg free and moves into half guard. Wright is nestled in close to Dann, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Wright working Dann over with strikes. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dann won't allow Wright to pass to mount. Wright content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wright is looking to advance position but Dann won't allow it. Wright controlling the action here.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Wright closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dann quickly recovers to half guard. Wright slows the pace down in half guard. Wright scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright works his way into full mount! Wright stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Wright misses with a body shot
letting Dann counter with a right hand. Wright takes the fight into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Dann's face as he tries to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wright pressing his opponent against the cage. Wright tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Dann avoids it. Wright pulls guard. Wright keeping moving, preventing Dann from controlling successfully. Wright pulls Dann in close to his closed guard and prevents Dann from doing any damage or advancing position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Erick Wright dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Wright misses with a double jab
and Dann counters with a nice uppercut. Wright uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dann. Dann throws a hook but Wright blocks it. And Wright tries to counter it with a takedown but Dann pushes his down on his head and steps out. Wright takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Erick Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wright gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Dann counter with a right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wright closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Wright pulls Dann into guard.
Wright wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wright is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dann is proving hard to escape from. Wright controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Wright passes Dann's left leg - he's now in half guard. Wright moves nicely into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dann is being controlled here. Wright wants to stand but Dann is controlling his arm. Wright decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dann to his feet. Wright misses with a hook
and Dann counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wright avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wright steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Dann. Wright shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright is working Dann over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Wright slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Wright. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Wright is pushing down on Dann's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dann is fighting to maintain full guard but Wright has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wright sitting and controlling from the half guard. Wright wants to work for an arm triangle but Dann is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Wright slows the pace down in half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wright takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Erick Wright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! Wright walks into a straight right hand from Dann. Wright fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dann sprawls well initially but Wright persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Wright performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Dann on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. It looks like Wright is going to stand back up.

Wright fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dann to the ground. Wright is now in Dann's guard. Wright sitting in guard, not really doing much. Wright chips away with some ground and pound. Wright wants to stand but Dann has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright's corner is telling him to maintain position. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wright's corner. There ya go! There ya go! He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wright tries for a takedown but Dann circles away easily and Dann counters with a lovely straight right hand! Erick Wright is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wright misses with a body shot
enabling Dann to counter with a crisp jab. Charlie Dann is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wright shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wright was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Wright lands a decent elbow from side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wright in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Charlie Dann has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Erick Wright is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. You can see the frustration on Dann's face as Wright controls the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Erick Wright comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Wright winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
