Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hunt (ranked 24936 p4p, 4903 weight class) and Mikko Kangas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hunt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Kangas! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunt tries for a takedown but Kangas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice takedown defense from Kangas. No joy for Hunt on that attempt. Hunt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kangas avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Hunt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hunt shoots in for a takedown but Kangas shows good takedown defense. Kangas drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hunt defends it well. Hunt gets caught flat footed, as Kangas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kangas stands up over Hunt, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hunt trying to strike off his back.
Kangas working some strikes from top position. Kangas controls from within his opponent's guard. Kangas is in close to Hunt's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hunt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kangas on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kangas distracts Hunt with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Kangas lands a couple of digs. Hunt is looking to stand up but Kangas isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunt has momentary wrist control but Kangas slips an elbow through the middle. Hunt is looking to stand up but Kangas isn't so interested in that idea. Kangas wants to control from the top but Hunt keeps moving. Kangas with a nice head shot there. Kangas content to stall in guard here. Hunt is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kangas dives into side control.
Hunt on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kangas content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Kangas working the ground and pound from side control. Kangas trying to control the action but Hunt is working from the bottom. Hunt is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kangas is controlling him well. Hunt is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Kangas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kangas cracks Hunt with a big right hand but Hunt just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Kangas remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Kangas working the head with strikes. Kangas looks up at the clock and then as Hunt takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kangas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kangas controlling from side mount. Hunt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kangas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Kangas is chipping away with strikes.
Hunt is rocked! Hunt sneaks out the side door and pushes Kangas away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Hunt rushes Kangas and presses him up against the cage. Kangas has clasped his hands together around Hunt's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kangas lands a nice forearm strike. Kangas scores with punches from side control. Oh Hunt is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Kangas works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Hunt is trying to escape the position but Kangas is controlling the position. This has been an exciting period of action! Kangas trying to control the action but Hunt is working from the bottom. Kangas landing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kangas grinds an elbow into Hunt's temple. Hunt throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Kangas happy to just control the position for now. Hunt seems to have got his legs back now. Kangas landing a few strikes. Kangas landing a few strikes. Kangas cracks Hunt with an elbow. That is naaassty. Hunt is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. A big shot lands for Kangas! That's hurt Hunt! Will he recover? Kangas fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
