Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Maggot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Geoffroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Geoffroy has chosen I'm On a Boat as his entrance music. Jack Maggot has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geoffroy takes one on the button.
Maggot tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Geoffroy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Maggot swivels and escapes.
Maggot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Geoffroy pinned against the cage. Geoffroy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Maggot will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Maggot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Geoffroy pinned against the cage. Geoffroy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Maggot fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Geoffroy, pushing him back against the cage.

Geoffroy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Maggot holds on and takes a little breather.
Geoffroy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maggot swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Maggot pulls Geoffroy in close to prevent any damage.
Geoffroy won't allow Maggot to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Geoffroy in particular looking to stall.

Maggot feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
