Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ciryl Gane (ranked 3850 p4p, 4492 weight class) and Sammy Simmons (ranked 396 p4p, 435 weight class). Gane's entrance music is Zoo - Kaaris. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons closes the distance and clinches up with Gane, looking for a takedown. Simmons pushes Gane against the cage but Gane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Simmons tries to bum rush Gane with a series of wild strikes but Gane uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Simmons takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gane throws a low kick, looking for Simmons's leg but Simmons calmly moves out of range.

Gane throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Simmons was covering up waiting for the punch and Gane finishes the takedown easily into guard.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Gane here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Simmons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Simmons can do anything to dispel that myth.
Simmons tries to reverse the position but Gane maintains control.

Gane has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Simmons has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
