Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tao Wei (ranked 4301 p4p, 6041 weight class) and Joe Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tao Wei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Harris!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris keeps the fight on the outside.
Harris looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Harris moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A nice combination there by Wei.
Wei misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wei avoids a kick to the body.
Harris avoids the body shot from Wei.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harris drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wei is trying to control the position but Harris postures up.
Wei wants to sweep but no luck.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Harris drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wei not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Wei has his feet on Harris's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Harris tries to move into range but Wei moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Wei with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Wei looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Wei scores with a body shot.
Wei shoots for a double leg takedown but Harris sprawls well. He's pushed Wei's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wei throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Harris on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wei dives in for a single leg takedown but Harris sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tao Wei. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Harris keeps the fight on the outside.
Wei doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Harris counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Harris stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Wei wants to stall.
Harris keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Wei's efforts to push away.

Harris gets underhooks to prevent Wei's takedown attempt.
Wei tries to break the clinch but Harris is controlling the position.
Wei fails to pull guard.

Harris manages to break the clinch.
Harris looks for the body kick but Wei saw that one coming.
Wei tries to clinch there but Harris circles away.
Wei misses with a hook to the body

so Harris counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wei trying to keep a closed guard but Harris is proving a slippery customer.
Harris in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joe Harris will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Harris has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wei finds it's way round the side to connect with Harris's head.
Tao Wei is winning the standup battle so far.
Wei looks to land a combination. Harris sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Wei throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Joe Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Harris throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wei tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Harris is in Wei's guard.
Wei is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Harris won't allow Wei to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Harris accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Joe Harris has got the better of the ground game so far.
Harris is breathing heavily.
Wei looking to control.

Wei manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Harris manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harris swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harris is looking to sweep but instead, Wei has passed into half guard.
Wei moves into full mount! Harris won't be happy about that!
Wei trying to control but Harris is having none of it.

Wei looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Wei with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Harris tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wei pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
We've been informed that Harris has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Harris is looking to improve his position but Wei isn't that keen on the idea.

Wei is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Harris can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Wei lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Harris hang on?

Wei has isolated one of Harris's arms. Harris looking to fight him off but Wei twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
