Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tartar Martyr (ranked 4419 p4p, 4471 weight class) and Jackson Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tartar Martyr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jackson Grant!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martyr shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Martyr was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Martyr lands a nice forearm strike.
Martyr cracks Grant with a big elbow.
Grant really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martyr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Martyr lands a few punches from side control.
Martyr grinds an elbow into Grant's temple.
Martyr wants to control but Grant is keeping him busy.
Grant tries to bench press Martyr off him but Martyr keeps the position.

Martyr tries to advance to mount but can't.
Martyr connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Grant some visible discomfort.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Martyr tries for a kimura but Grant is defending well.
Martyr wants to control for a moment but Grant uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Martyr is keen to just control but Grant is a slippery customer.
Martyr is pressing down on Grant's thigh, looking to free his foot. Grant is holding on for now.
Grant is holding on to half guard well.
Martyr working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Grant should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Martyr is working for a kimura but Grant is defending it quite comfortably.
Martyr wants to pass the guard but Grant is defending well.

Martyr is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Martyr lands a nice short elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martyr passes the guard and advances to mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Martyr looking to control but Grant is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Martyr looking to secure an arm triangle but Grant defends it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tartar Martyr dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Grant throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Grant looks for the body kick but Martyr saw that one coming.

Martyr gets a double leg takedown into Grant's guard.

Grant is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Martyr presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Grant prevents a takedown attempt there.

Grant breaks the clinch.
Grant fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Grant wants to clinch up but Martyr keeps it at a distance.

Grant tries to clinch but Martyr is having none of it.

Martyr throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Grant tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Martyr is in Grant's guard.
Martyr is working Grant over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Martyr passes Grant's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Grant stops Martyr from passing to mount.
Martyr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Grant can do to turn this around?

Grant tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Martyr wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Martyr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grant keeps working.

Grant is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Martyr's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Martyr! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Grant has tapped! This one is allllll over!
