Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuo Shima (ranked 1345 p4p, 2591 weight class) and Javier Pinales (ranked 183 p4p, 335 weight class). Shima comes to the cage accompanied by The HU - Yuve Yuve Yu. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tetsuo Shima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Javier Pinales!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shima swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pinales.
Pinales misses with a takedown attempt - Shima sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pinales shoots for a double leg takedown but Shima sprawls well. He's pushed Pinales's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shima throws a low kick but Pinales moves out of range easily.
Pinales dives in and grabs Shima's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shima pushes down on Pinales's head and hops out.
Tetsuo Shima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Javier Pinales.

Pinales has picked Shima up - he's going for a ride! Pinales dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shima is doing well to control the position and prevent Pinales from advancing to side control.

Shima tries to kick Pinales off but Pinales keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Pinales is working for a kimura but Shima is defending it quite comfortably.

Pinales drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shima dives on top into guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Shima tries to close the distance and clinch but Pinales swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Pinales shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Javier Pinales has been cut.
Shima leaves Pinales with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shima lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pinales has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pinales and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Shima fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pinales looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
