Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teófilo Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paulo Maldini!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldini lands with a right hand.
Maldini circles away from the clinch attempt.
Maldini feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Stevenson sprawling to the canvas! Stevenson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Maldini finish him?!
Stevenson is rocked!
It looks like Teófilo Stevenson has been cut.
Stevenson drops his hands momentarily. Maldini doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Stevenson staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Stevenson doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paulo Maldini!
During a confident post fight interview, Paulo Maldini thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
