PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brent Luger (ranked 25489 p4p, 4445 weight class) and Brima Sillah (ranked 560 p4p, 0 weight class). Luger has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brima Sillah!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sillah takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Sillah looking to score a takedown here. Luger is defending well but Sillah drives through and ends up in Luger's guard.
Sillah postures up and lands a big shot to Luger's brow.
Sillah controlling from the top position.
Let's hope that Sillah has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Luger is breathing heavily.
Sillah stands and throws Luger's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sillah has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sillah stands up and beckons Luger to his feet.

Sillah clinches.
Sillah digs a right hand into Luger's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Luger's gas tank.

Luger is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sillah is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Luger to the mat. Luger regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Sillah slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
It looks like Sillah might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Sillah drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sillah jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sillah lands strikes from half guard.
Sillah works his foot free and advances to mount.
Sillah has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Luger's face.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sillah stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Sillah scores with a kick to the midsection.

Sillah closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sillah keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Sillah stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
