Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ridley Scott (ranked 4035 p4p, 5325 weight class) and Benjamin Walton (ranked 485 p4p, 541 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ridley Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Benjamin Walton! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walton moves into range and clinches up with Scott. Walton lands with a short shot to the head. Scott misses with a punch on the inside.
A shot in the inside from Walton. Walton is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Walton prevents a body shot from Scott. Walton lands with a short shot to the head. Scott has a couple of punches blocked by Walton.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Walton. Walton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Scott drives through and clinches with Walton against the cage.
Walton misses with the head strike.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Scott. Walton wants to break free but Scott has control.
Walton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Scott's elbow. Walton makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Scott works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
This has been an exciting period of action! A body shot lands from Scott.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Walton closes the distance and clinches. Walton misses with a short punch on the inside. Scott is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Walton will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Scott up against the cage. Walton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Still in the clinch, Scott scores with a nice short uppercut. Walton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Walton lands with a left to the head. Scott swings away with an uppercut that misses.

A head punch on the inside from Scott fails to land. Walton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Scott's elbow. Walton taking a breather. Scott can't find room to land a body shot as Walton controls the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Walton. A nice side step and Walton releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Scott dives in and grabs Walton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walton pushes down on Scott's head and hops out. Walton jabbing away but nothing is landing. Walton scores with a kick to the body.
Scott misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Walton.
Walton turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Scott clinches. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Walton. Scott is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ridley Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him. A short right from Walton. Walton tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Scott avoids it. Walton stalling in the clinch.
Walton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Walton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Scott. Walton tries a quick counter leg kick but Scott is wise to it. Walton feints and then cracks Scott's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Scott down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walton connects with a crisp jab. Walton instigates a clinch. A bit of stalling here from Walton.
Walton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Scott gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Walton to counter with a crisp jab. Walton works the jab nicely. Scott moves into the clinch. Walton blocks an uppercut.
Scott has Walton pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Walton manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Scott works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Scott stops Walton from standing up. Walton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Walton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Scott postures up in Walton's guard and throws a big left but Walton blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Scott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Scott postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Scott is looking to work some ground and pound but Walton has wrist control. Scott lands a couple of decent looking shots. Scott wants to control from the top but Walton keeps moving. Walton seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Scott is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Scott trying to control but Walton is working from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Scott throws a big right hand that misses. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Benjamin Walton dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Walton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ridley Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walton keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Scott. A countering left hand to the body from Walton misses. Scott misses with the combination.
Walton appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Walton connects with a high kick.
It looks like Ridley Scott has been cut. Nice defenses there by Walton. Scott gets a takedown into half guard. Walton avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Scott. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Walton defending well though. Walton is staying active underneath Scott, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Walton is positioning himself well to prevent Scott advancing to mount.

Walton keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Scott with the ground and pound but Walton uses the opportunity to regain guard. Scott postures up in Walton's guard and throws a big left but Walton blocks it. Scott throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Walton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Scott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Scott working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Walton looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Scott trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Scott scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scott distracts Walton with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. We've been hearing that Scott has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Scott passes Walton's left leg - he's now in half guard. Scott wants to control but Walton is keeping him busy. Scott missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Scott not landing any meaningful shots this time. Walton wants to get back to full guard. Scott controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walton wants to get back to full guard. Nice strikes from Scott there. Scott is taking a breather. Walton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Scott is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Walton reverses the position - he's now on top in Scott's guard. Scott wants to sweep but no luck. Walton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walton is continuing to stall. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Scott holds on and takes a little breather. Walton looking to pass the guard. Scott is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Walton wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Scott seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Walton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Scott thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Scott is trying to control the action in half guard but Walton is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott with the ground and pound but Walton uses the opportunity to regain guard. Walton wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Horrible takedown attempt by Scott or perhaps it was just good defense by Walton, which made it look bad. Scott drives through and clinches with Walton against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Walton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Scott misses with a takedown and Walton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Scott gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Walton counter with a right hand. Walton throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Walton has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. The fight moves into the clinch position. Benjamin Walton seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Walton leaning against his opponent.
Walton is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Scott doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Walton scores with a nice hook to the head. Scott tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Walton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Walton working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Scott drops down looking for an ankle pick but Walton pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nice straight punches there by Scott. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Scott.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Benjamin Walton. I think Walton has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
