Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Akamu (ranked 1542 p4p, 1941 weight class) and Tinashe Chukwuma (ranked 187 p4p, 232 weight class). Akamu comes to the cage accompanied by Audioslave - Be Yourself. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tinashe Chukwuma was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Akamu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tinashe Chukwuma!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akamu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chukwuma was well out of range. Poor timing from Akamu.
Akamu moves out of range of the strikes.
Akamu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chukwuma.
Chukwuma chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Akamu stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Chukwuma.
Chukwuma ducks under a wild hook from Akamu.
Akamu drops his hands momentarily and Chukwuma takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Chukwuma throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Akamu blocks it with crossed arms.
Akamu is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Chukwuma is defending well for now.

Akamu looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Akamu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Akamu is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Chukwuma is defending well.

Akamu lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Chukwuma tries to land knees in the clinch but Akamu avoids the damage to the body.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Akamu takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Akamu looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Akamu passes into side control, despite Chukwuma's attempt to control the position.

Akamu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chukwuma is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Chukwuma is looking for a sweep.
Chukwuma can't do much from the bottom here.
Chukwuma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akamu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Akamu lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Chukwuma down.
Chukwuma looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Akamu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chukwuma has escaped the position, nice work there.
Akamu is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Chukwuma will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Akamu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Akamu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Akamu remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Chukwuma is working to avoid the ground and pound but Akamu connects with a decent elbow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Akamu will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Akamu dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Akamu stalks Chukwuma and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Chukwuma's face. Chukwuma staggers backwards, shaken.
Chukwuma displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Akamu throws out the jab.
Akamu scores with a takedown into Chukwuma's guard.
Akamu works over Chukwuma with some ground and pound from guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Akamu seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Chukwuma is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Akamu jumps into side control!

Chukwuma is trying to control Akamu's posture but Akamu avoids it.
Chukwuma is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chukwuma wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Akamu has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Chukwuma's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Chukwuma is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Akamu!

A relieved looking John Akamu thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
