This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 25 wins and 9 losses; Tendren Hlervu! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Hlervu gets tackled into the cage by Schaubi. Schaubi maintains the clinch. Schaubi drags the fight down to the ground.
Schaubi looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Schaubi managing to control the position. Hlervu trying to control but Schaubi is working from the bottom. Schaubi pulls Hlervu in close to his closed guard and prevents Hlervu from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's one minute gone in the round. Schaubi forces his way into half guard. Hlervu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hlervu is controlling Schaubi's position as best he can from this difficult position. Schaubi is controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hlervu looking for submissions off his back. Schaubi content to control rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hlervu keeping control of the position. Schaubi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schaubi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Hlervu manages to get to full guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Schaubi trying to control but Hlervu is working from the bottom. Schaubi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Schaubi is fighting to break Hlervu's control of his arms but Hlervu is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Hlervu is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Hlervu has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Schaubi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Schaubi works his way back into a safe position though. Hlervu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hlervu looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Schaubi is defending well. Hlervu quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Schaubi has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hlervu celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
