The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Chimaev.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Chimaev.
Rojo swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Rojo scores with a nice head shot.
Chimaev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rojo pinned against the cage. Rojo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chimaev looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ramon Rojo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vance Chimaev.

Chimaev shoots in looking for a takedown but Rojo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chimaev's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
As Chimaev backs away, Rojo returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Chimaev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rojo as he jumps to the side.
Rojo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Chimaev tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A nice leg kick from Rojo, right into the meat of the thigh.
Chimaev shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Chimaev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rojo defends well and Chimaev ends up having to push Rojo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Chimaev moves to clinch but Rojo breaks away
and Rojo counters with a thumping low kick.

and Rojo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rojo stuffs the takedown attempt from Chimaev. Chimaev gets slowly back to his feet.
Chimaev lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rojo circles away quickly and effectively.
Rojo thumps Chimaev with a low kick.
Rojo dodges the punch combination from Chimaev.
Rojo is looking to counter punch.
Chimaev tries to close the distance and clinch but Rojo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Chimaev is looking to clinch but Rojo is avoiding it.
Rojo looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Rojo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

It looks like Vance Chimaev has been cut.
Rojo throws out a powerful jab.

Chimaev doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rojo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rojo lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Chimaev dives in and grabs Rojo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rojo pushes down on Chimaev's head and hops out.
Chimaev swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Rojo counter with a right hand.
Chimaev looks for a takedown but Rojo sprawls well.
Rojo works the jab nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chimaev gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Rojo gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
