Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Georges Rocha!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rocha tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Georges Rocha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rocha tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Rocha.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rocha as he jumps to the side.
Rocha turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rocha sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Silva gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Rocha regains guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rocha holds on and takes a little breather.
Rocha is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rocha manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Rocha in his guard.
Rocha stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position.

Silva is looking for a triangle but Rocha pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Rocha looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rocha is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Silva gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Rocha wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.
Rocha keeping full guard, as Silva tries to pass.
Rocha is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.
Rocha is pulling down on Silva's head. It's preventing any offense from Silva, at least for the moment.
Rocha wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.

Silva drops back looking for a leg! Rocha is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rocha manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Rocha's guard.
Rocha tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Rocha closes the distance and clinches.
Silva tries to pull guard but Rocha holds him up against the cage and eventually Silva drops back down to his feet.
Still in the clinch, Rocha scores with a nice short uppercut.
Rocha gets underhooks to prevent Silva's takedown attempt.
Silva jumps guard but Rocha stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rocha lands a nice shot to the body.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Rocha obliges.

Rocha has Silva pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rocha pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Silva tumbling to the mat - Rocha dives into Silva's guard.

Rocha lands a couple of digs.
Rocha content to stall in guard here.

Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rocha postures up and lands a big shot to Silva's brow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Silva throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rocha uses it to pass to side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georges Rocha dominated that round.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rocha throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rocha throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silva avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rocha as he avoids it easily.
Rocha throws and low kick but Silva moves out of range easily.
Silva gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rocha.


It looks like Jose Silva has been cut.
Rocha wants to slow Silva down by chopping away at his legs.
Rocha throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice takedown defense from Rocha. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rocha pinned against the cage. Rocha gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The is referee keeping an eye on Rocha - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rocha.
Rocha lands a body punch.

Rocha manages to break the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Rocha.
Rocha throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Rocha tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rocha rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rocha connects with a knee to the head.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rocha takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
The crowd are getting on Rocha's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rocha walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Rocha darts in and clinches Silva up against the cage.
Silva jumps guard but Rocha stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Silva drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rocha lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Silva or not.

Rocha gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Silva regains guard.

Silva is working an open guard so Rocha takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rocha sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
A combination from Rocha does no damage.
Rocha lands a jab-cross combination.
Rocha tries to land a leg kick but Silva saw it coming and moves away.
Silva misses with a kick to the body.
No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.
A clash of legs there as Silva blocks the low kick.
Silva tries to clinch up
and Rocha counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice body punch from Rocha.

Silva tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Rocha counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Rocha gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Silva regains guard.

Silva looking for subs off his back but Rocha has passed one foot through into half guard.
Silva has hold of Rocha's hands but Rocha slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rocha lands a nice short elbow.
Rocha slips a nice elbow through Silva's hands, connecting with Silva's forehead.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rocha pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georges Rocha showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Jose Silva's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Rocha feints and then cracks Silva's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Silva down.
Rocha throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Rocha avoids the head kick by Silva.
Rocha uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Silva has time to react.
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Rocha counters with a crisp one two that drops Silva! Rocha thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Silva to his feet! Silva is in big trouble!
Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rocha drops Silva with a huge uppercut! Silva drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Rocha is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Georges Rocha!
