Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ryu Akutagawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Olu Banjo!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Akutagawa.
Akutagawa catches Banjo with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Akutagawa drops Banjo with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Banjo looks back up at him and smiles so Akutagawa waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Banjo is rocked!
Banjo misses with a left hand
and Akutagawa counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Banjo out cold! What a finish! Akutagawa is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ryu Akutagawa!
A less than humble Ryu Akutagawa misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
