Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Branko Banik (ranked 1863 p4p, 2281 weight class) and Taisto Thai (ranked 240 p4p, 295 weight class). Branko Banik could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Taisto Thai's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Branko Banik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Taisto Thai!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Thai. Those never looked like landing.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Banik takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Taisto Thai dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Banik throws a hook to the side of Thai's head but Thai sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Banik is looking to take a break and control but Thai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

We've been hearing good reports from Banik's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Banik uses his free foot to push down on Thai's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Thai.

Banik has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A big strike lands for Banik! That's really hurt Thai and he's turned his back - Banik keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Banik jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

A relieved looking Branko Banik thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Taisto Thai was interviewed post fight and said 'Back To the gym.. '.
