Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sonatane Veainu (ranked 3342 p4p, 3168 weight class) and Bo Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sonatane Veainu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bo Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Veainu.

Veainu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hogan's half guard.
Veainu prevents Hogan from improving his position.

Hogan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Veainu is trying to control the action in half guard but Hogan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hogan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hogan is trying to control the position but Veainu postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hogan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hogan wants to sweep but no luck.

Hogan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Veainu manages to get himself to full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Veainu holds on and takes a little breather.
Veainu striking off his back but it's not causing Hogan any problems.
Veainu is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Hogan content to stall in guard here.
Hogan wants to control from the top but Veainu keeps moving.
Hogan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Veainu is keeping the position for now.
Veainu is looking to stand up but Hogan isn't so interested in that idea.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hogan throws a big elbow that misses.
Hogan trying to control the position from guard on top but Veainu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Veainu trying to keep a closed guard but Hogan is proving a slippery customer.
Hogan sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hogan advances position into side control!
Hogan wants to control but Veainu is keeping him busy.
Hogan advances nicely into full mount.
Veainu tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Veainu manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Veainu is refusing to be controlled, as Hogan sits in half guard.

Hogan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Veainu defends it well.
Hogan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Veainu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Veainu is defending against the submission attempts here by Hogan.
Veainu wants to improve his position but Hogan is controlling well.
Hogan is looking to advance position but Veainu won't allow it.
Hogan works his way into side control.
Veainu is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hogan looks up at the clock and then as Veainu takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hogan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Veainu misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Hogan lands some shots froms side control.
Hogan wants to control but Veainu is keeping him busy.

Hogan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Veainu knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hogan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hogan tries for a kimura but Veainu is defending well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bo Hogan dominated that round.

Veainu feints and as Hogan raises his hands in defense, Veainu changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Veainu won't allow Hogan to sweep him here.
Hogan has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Veainu has passed into side control.
Hogan sneaks back into half guard.

Veainu is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hogan defends it well.
Hogan gets full guard.

Hogan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Veainu manages to get himself to full guard.

Hogan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hogan is stalling in the full guard.
Veainu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bo Hogan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hogan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hogan trying to control the action but Veainu is working from the bottom.

Hogan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Veainu is just riding it out for now. Hogan eventually gives up the hold.
Veainu wants to control but Hogan is keeping busy.

Veainu is controlling Hogan's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Hogan scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Veainu controlling the position well.
Hogan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Veainu knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Veainu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hogan works his way into side control.
Hogan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Hogan is working to tighten his grip on Veainu's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Veainu has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hogan is really squeezing tight and eventually Veainu passes out! Hogan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Bo Hogan!
