Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leef Ung!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ung was covering up waiting for the punch and Machado finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Machado slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Machado trying to control the action but Ung is working from the bottom.
Machado working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machado postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ung tries to bench press Machado off him but Machado keeps the position.
Ung is still trying to improve position.
Machado misses with the ground and pound.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Machado has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Machado goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ung is on top in guard.
Ung content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Machado has locked up a guillotine! Machado's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Ung is holding on here and Machado must be using up a lot of energy. Ung has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Machado gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
