Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bob Cyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dick Buttkins!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cyle throws a nice looking combination but Buttkins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cyle works Buttkins's body with a nice hook.
Buttkins darts in trying to clinch
and Cyle counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Cyle looks to land a combination but Buttkins avoids it well.
Buttkins changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Bob Cyle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Buttkins walks into a left hand.
Cyle lands a really nice looking cross but Buttkins seems unphased.
Cyle swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Buttkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cyle, pushing him back against the cage.

Buttkins jumps guard and drags Cyle to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Buttkins is on top in guard.

Buttkins wants to pass the guard but Cyle is keeping the position.

Buttkins gets to his feet - Cyle follows without any prompting.
A lazy left from Cyle finds it's target.
Buttkins looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Cyle ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Buttkins shoots in and bounces Cyle off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cyle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cyle tries to get out of the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Cyle tries to sprawl but Buttkins drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Buttkins wants to work for an arm triangle but Cyle is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Cyle is looking to get back to full guard here but Buttkins has managed to pass to side control instead.
Buttkins works to advance to full mount. Cyle defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Buttkins lands a nice short elbow.
Buttkins wants to take a breather but Cyle is having none of it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cyle scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Buttkins doesn't seem bothered though.

Cyle cracks Buttkins with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Cyle throws a leg kick but Buttkins sees it coming and moves out of range.

Buttkins takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Buttkins walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Cyle dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Buttkins fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Buttkins has Cyle up against the cage in a clinch.
Cyle is trying to push Buttkins away but Buttkins has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A frustrated look appears on Cyle's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Buttkins has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cyle is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Cyle looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Cyle is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Buttkins manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Cyle has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Buttkins is proving hard to escape from.
Cyle slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Cyle's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Buttkins has his foot on Cyle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cyle works his way back into a safe position though.

Buttkins controls Cyle momentarily but Cyle frees himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cyle wanted to stand there but Buttkins had control of the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Bob Cyle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cyle connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Buttkins momentarily.

Buttkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cyle paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Buttkins shoots in looking for a takedown but Cyle manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Buttkins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cyle is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Cyle darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Cyle shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Buttkins eats them both and turns towards Cyle to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cyle, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
