Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Davis (ranked 4372 p4p, 4160 weight class) and Connor McDavid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Connor McDavid! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McDavid wants to clinch. McDavid fails with an attempt to clinch.
McDavid tries to keep at a distance but Davis has taken the fight into the clinch. McDavid drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Davis breaks from the clinch.
Davis tries to clinch there but McDavid circles away.
McDavid drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Davis defends it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but McDavid defends well and Davis ends up having to push McDavid into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. McDavid has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Davis wants to break free but McDavid has control.
McDavid blocks an elbow strike from Davis.
Davis pulls guard effortlessly.

Davis looking for a sweep. Not yet Davis, not yet. McDavid stays in close to Davis's body and controls the position. McDavid trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Davis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Davis decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. McDavid shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McDavid was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis gets back to half guard. Davis wants to control but McDavid is keeping busy.
Davis is pressing down on McDavid's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. McDavid showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Davis tries to land a sweep but no joy. McDavid looking to pass the guard. McDavid really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McDavid controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDavid's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Davis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McDavid defends it easily. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. McDavid sitting in guard here, content to control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Davis takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
McDavid shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Davis napping and manages to drive through into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McDavid just content to control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Davis sneaks back into half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Don Davis will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Davis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. McDavid drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Davis working a defensive guard here.
Davis wants to stand and escape but McDavid is having none of it. McDavid slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Don Davis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. McDavid bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. McDavid is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Davis's shoulder. That is not cool. You can see the frustration on Davis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. McDavid just content to control the position. Davis tries to improve position but can't. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Don Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Davis tries to clinch but McDavid is having none of it. A combination from Davis does no damage. Davis tries to sprawl but McDavid drives through with a takedown into half guard. Davis is trying to maintain the position but McDavid is very close to passing his half guard. Well, if McDavid is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Let's hope that McDavid has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Davis shoots in for a double leg but McDavid sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Connor McDavid showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Davis shoots in for a takedown but McDavid shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. McDavid bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. McDavid throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The referee asks McDavid politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. McDavid prefers to stall for the moment though. McDavid fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McDavid fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Davis, pushing him back against the cage. Davis is trying to stall.
McDavid tries for a takedown. No joy.

McDavid is trying to drag Davis to the mat but Davis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Don Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connor McDavid. Davis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Davis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McDavid.
Davis has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDavid has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Davis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Davis stops a takedown attempt from McDavid.

Davis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McDavid gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Davis is pressed up against the cage. McDavid has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Davis down to the mat. Davis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Davis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McDavid.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. McDavid closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Davis did well to prevent McDavid getting side control. McDavid is taking a breather. Davis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from McDavid. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Davis tries to roll over but McDavid keeps him under control. McDavid slows the pace down in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Connor McDavid comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think McDavid has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
