Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nik Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Martinelli!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinelli is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fox sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Martinelli feints and as Fox raises his hands in defense, Martinelli changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Martinelli gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fox is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Martinelli is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Martinelli feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Martinelli drops back looking for a leg! Fox is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fox manages to kick Martinelli off! Martinelli jumps back into Fox's guard.
Martinelli won't allow Fox to sweep him here.
Martinelli is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Nik Fox dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Fox stuffs the takedown attempt from Martinelli. Martinelli gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Fox manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martinelli might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fox haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Martinelli controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Martinelli seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Fox darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Martinelli regains full guard. Nicely done.
Martinelli manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fox manages to get himself to full guard.
Fox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Martinelli on the ground.

Martinelli drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fox manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Martinelli has Fox in his guard.
Fox content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Martinelli has locked up a guillotine! Martinelli's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Fox is holding on here and Martinelli must be using up a lot of energy. Fox has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Martinelli gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
