Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 24661 p4p, 24570 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yawa Kiang could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Way Nada's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Kiang darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Nada trying to control from the bottom.
Nada blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kiang.
Kiang is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiang postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Nada trying to strike off his back.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kiang trying to control but Nada is working from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Kiang darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nada tries to roll over but Kiang keeps him under control.

Nada is controlling Kiang's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Kiang takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nada wants to get back to full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Nada is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kiang slaps away a takedown attempt from Nada, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nada fails to land the takedown.
Kiang is looking to counter with a body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nada shoots and misses
and Kiang finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nada.
Kiang tried to counter with a leg kick but Nada avoided it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nada doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kiang counters with a nice leg kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yawa Kiang dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Nada stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nada wants it to stay on the feet.
Nada steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Nada fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And Kiang counters with a quick kick to the body but Nada blocks it.
Nada misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nada displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kiang.

Kiang looking to score a takedown here. Nada is defending well but Kiang drives through and ends up in Nada's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kiang is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nada can do to turn this around?
Nada wants to sweep but no luck.

Nada is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kiang won't allow Nada to sweep him here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kiang shoots in and gets a takedown into Nada's guard.
Kiang is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kiang has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Kiang postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yawa Kiang dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Kiang keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kiang throws a counter high kick but Nada was just alert enough to avoid it.
Kiang shoots for a double leg takedown but Nada sprawls well. He's pushed Kiang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kiang has his takedown stuffed
and Nada counters with a good, hard body kick but Kiang shrugs it off.

Kiang trying to control the position but Nada is working away.
Nada is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Nada is trying to control Kiang's posture but Kiang avoids it.
Who's going to make the next move?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kiang remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kiang is looking to take a break and control but Nada is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

You can see the frustration on Nada's face as Kiang controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nada dives in and scores a takedown into Kiang's guard.
Nada is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Yawa Kiang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kiang looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Way Nada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Yawa Kiang is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nada looking to sit in guard and control but Kiang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Nada has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kiang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yawa Kiang.
Well Kiang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
