Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ankle Breaker (ranked 1016 p4p, 4014 weight class) and Wang Dong (ranked 97 p4p, 316 weight class). Wang Dong has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ankle Breaker's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ankle Breaker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wang Dong!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ron Honeybunn and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Breaker tries to sprawl but Dong drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Breaker wants to improve his position but Dong is controlling well.
Dong lands strikes from half guard.
Dong is controlling the pace.
Breaker is looking to improve his position.
Dong wants to control but Breaker is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Breaker is trying to get back to full guard.
Breaker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Dong moves into full mount! Breaker won't be happy about that!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dong controls from within his opponent's guard.

Breaker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Breaker looking to control.
Dong throws a strike but Breaker rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Breaker throws a big right hand that misses.

Breaker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dong has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Breaker has managed to get both his arms back between Dong's legs - danger averted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Breaker wants to pass the guard but Dong is keeping the position.
Dong is trying to control the position but Breaker postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Breaker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dong closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Breaker quickly recovers to half guard.

Dong seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are battling for position here. Breaker manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Breaker striking off his back but it's not causing Dong any problems.
Dong slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Breaker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dong doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dong manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Breaker utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Breaker has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dong is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Breaker.
Dong wants to control but Breaker is keeping him busy.
Breaker wants to control but Dong postures up.
Dong tries to move to mount but Breaker blocks the move with his legs.
Breaker is looking to regain half guard here but Dong keeps moving and retains side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Breaker gets back to half guard.

Breaker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dong pulls his head out easily.
Dong wants to control but Breaker is keeping him busy.

Breaker actively working from the bottom here.
Dong working the head and body with strikes.
Breaker moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Breaker looking to control.
Dong controls from within his opponent's guard.

Breaker looking for a sweep. Not yet Breaker, not yet.
Dong with a flurry of punches that miss.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Breaker is on top in guard.

Breaker looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Breaker throws an elbow that misses. Dong uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Breaker's guard. Nice move by Dong!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dong accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Breaker keeping moving, preventing Dong from controlling successfully.

Dong tries to free his leg and advance position but Breaker is retaining full guard.
Dong preventing the sweep.
Breaker throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Dong working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Breaker keeping full guard, as Dong tries to pass.

Breaker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dong defends well.
Dong is pushing down on Breaker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Breaker is fighting to maintain full guard but Dong has managed to sneak the leg through.

Breaker is not content to let Dong control the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wang Dong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Dong throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Breaker.
You can see the frustration on Dong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Breaker tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Breaker has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Breaker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Dong takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Breaker throws an elbow but Dong slips to the side and avoids it well.

Dong felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Breaker tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Breaker wants to control but Dong is keeping him busy.

Breaker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Wang Dong has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dong takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Breaker goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Dong rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Breaker's guard! Nice work there by Dong!

Breaker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dong is aware though and is defending well.

Ankle Breaker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wang Dong is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Dong content to control rather than advance.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ankle Breaker.
Well Dong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
