Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jake Wood (ranked 2382 p4p, 3981 weight class) and Nevez Amadaus (ranked 0 p4p, 210 weight class). Wood comes to the cage accompanied by Many Men - 50 Cent. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Wood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nevez Amadaus! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood shoots in for a double leg but Amadaus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Amadaus! But no joy. Wood tries for a takedown but Amadaus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Wood misses with a left hand and Amadaus counters with a big head kick but Wood shrugs it off. Amadaus circles away from the clinch attempt.
Amadaus throws a big counter head kick but Wood avoids it with no problem. A slow jab from Wood misses its intended target. Amadaus throws out a counter right but Wood avoids it with no problem. Wood paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Wood tries for a takedown but Amadaus circles away easily and Amadaus makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Wood. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wood gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Amadaus counters with a straight right hand. Wood looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Amadaus is fending him off so far but Wood persists. Nope, Amadaus circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wood trying to control the pace. Wood is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Amadaus has managed to free his arm - good work. Wood slows the pace down in half guard. Amadaus is defending against the submission attempts here by Wood.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amadaus wants to control but Wood is keeping busy and won't allow it. Amadaus is concentrating on defense, preventing Wood from advancing position. Wood is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Amadaus doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wood. Amadaus is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wood frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Wood tries to control but Amadaus wriggling away. Wood thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wood controlling from the full mount. Amadaus is desperately trying to improve his position but Wood has a good base and remains in mount. Amadaus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wood working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Wood looking to control but Amadaus is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wood scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Amadaus?
Wood wants to control but instead Amadaus manages to regain half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wood missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Amadaus is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Wood throwing shots but Amadaus is blocking nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Amadaus is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wood scores with a couple of nice shots. Jake Wood dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Wood tries to clinch but fails miserably and Amadaus counters with a stiff right hand. Wood misses with an uppercut
enabling Amadaus to counter with a crisp jab. Wood darts in looking for a takedown but Amadaus gets double underhooks and turns Wood into the cage. A little jabbing left from Amadaus on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Amadaus gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Wood is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Amadaus felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Amadaus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Wood has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wood is looking for a kimura but Amadaus is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wood to get the leverage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Amadaus avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wood. Amadaus is controlling Wood's trapped leg to prevent Wood from advancing to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Amadaus is in trouble now - Wood has advanced to mount! Wood landing shots from mount. Wood misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Amadaus wants to hold on but Wood pushes him away. Amadaus regains half guard. Wood is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Amadaus looking to pass the guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Amadaus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Wood working for submissions but it's allowed Amadaus to get to half guard.

A close second round but Nevez Amadaus will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Wood misses with an uppercut
and Amadaus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jake Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wood tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Amadaus swivels and escapes. Amadaus throws a big counter head kick but Wood avoids it with no problem. Amadaus staying out of range there. Amadaus is trying to counter with his kicks. Wood throws a jab but it's blocked by Amadaus. Nice takedown defense from Amadaus. No joy for Wood on that attempt. Wood shoots in for a double leg but Amadaus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Wood looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Wood. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wood throws a big shot that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wood with a poor takedown and Amadaus counters with a lovely shot to the body. Wood tries to score a power double leg takedown but Amadaus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wood somewhat.

Amadaus throws a fast counter high kick but Wood manages to duck under it in time. Wood tries to clinch and Wood takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Wood with a lazy takedown attempt and Wood takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Wood with a poor takedown and Amadaus counters with a nice uppercut. Wood shoots in looking for a takedown. Amadaus tries to sprawl out of it but Wood keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Amadaus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amadaus defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wood. Amadaus flicks out a counter leg kick but Wood steps away. Wood fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Amadaus to the ground. Wood is now in Amadaus's guard. Wood seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Wood works a leg free and moves into half guard. Amadaus tries to kick Wood off but Wood keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Amadaus has his hands clasped together around Wood's back. He's all about the action. Jake Wood overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wood tries to pass the half guard into mount. Amadaus knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Wood there. Wood is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Amadaus keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Wood is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
