Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joanderson Ribeiro (ranked 590 p4p, 3378 weight class) and Ramey Couzins (ranked 57 p4p, 273 weight class). Ribeiro comes to the cage accompanied by Tropkillaz-Gorilla. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joanderson Ribeiro!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ramey Couzins!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Ribeiro misses with a leg kick
and Couzins counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Couzins.
Ribeiro kicks Couzins off and gets to his feet.
Ribeiro lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ribeiro fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Couzins has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Ribeiro clinches up with Couzins and pushes him back against the cage.
Couzins takes a knee to the side of the body.

Couzins wants to take the fight to the mat but Ribeiro manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Couzins is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ribeiro pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Couzins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ribeiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ribeiro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Couzins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ribeiro has managed to get both his arms back between Couzins's legs - danger averted.
Ribeiro passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ribeiro content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Couzins gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Couzins slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Couzins trying to keep a closed guard but Ribeiro is proving a slippery customer.
Ribeiro wants to pass the guard but Couzins is keeping the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Couzins tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Couzins is letting Ribeiro control him for a moment.
Ribeiro tries to move into full mount but can't pass Couzins's legs.
Ribeiro advances nicely into full mount.

Couzins chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ribeiro can pounce on him.

and Couzins counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ribeiro!
Joanderson Ribeiro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Couzins goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Ribeiro rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Couzins's guard! Nice work there by Ribeiro!
Ribeiro advances to half guard.
Ribeiro is taking a breather. Couzins says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Couzins wants to get back to full guard.
Couzins throws strikes from the bottom but it's allowed Ribeiro to grab hold of an arm and go for an armbar! It's tiiiiiiiiight! Couzins is forced to tap! This fight is all over!

After the fight, Joanderson Ribeiro was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
