PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pellinore Listenoise (ranked 4196 p4p, 4186 weight class) and Dave Abbott (ranked 431 p4p, 430 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pellinore Listenoise!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Abbott!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Listenoise is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Abbott's half guard.
Abbott looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Listenoise throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Abbott moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Abbott throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Abbott trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Listenoise postures up.
Listenoise has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Listenoise won't allow Abbott to sweep him here.
Abbott manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Listenoise manages to get himself to full guard.

Listenoise looking for a guillotine here but Abbott defends easily.
Abbott lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Listenoise has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Abbott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Abbott is working Listenoise over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Listenoise had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Abbott defends it easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Abbott's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Listenoise definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Abbott working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Abbott controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Listenoise keeping moving, preventing Abbott from controlling successfully.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Abbott lands a couple of elbows.

Listenoise is rocked!

Listenoise working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abbott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Abbott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Oh Listenoise is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Listenoise can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Abbott controls the pace.

Listenoise seems to have got his legs back now.

Abbott avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Abbott arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Listenoise's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

A less than humble Dave Abbott misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
