Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valter Custodio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacobs comes into the arena with Come Out Swinging blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs fails to land with a series of punches.
Jacobs stuffs the takedown attempt from Custodio. Custodio gets slowly back to his feet. Jacobs throws a good cross that connects.

Custodio takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Custodio gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jacobs. Jacobs misses the shot to the body. Jacobs tries a low kick but Custodio avoids it. Custodio takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Mark Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Custodio takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Jacobs feints and then cracks Custodio's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Custodio down. Jacobs throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A head kick misses from Jacobs. Custodio changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jacobs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Custodio throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Custodio looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Custodio tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Custodio is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jacobs has escaped the position, nice work there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. You can see the frustration on Jacobs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jacobs defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. You get the feeling that Jacobs really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Now he's in top in Jacobs's guard. Custodio stands up from Jacobs's guard - Custodio perhaps looking for a knockout. Custodio fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jacobs misses with a few strikes there.
Jacobs with a hook. Custodio shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jacobs's guard. Custodio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Custodio drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Custodio jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Valter Custodio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
