12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Albert Fish! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fish tries to bum rush Zero with a series of wild strikes but Zero uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Zero is defended easily by Fish. Zero ducks straight into an uppercut from Fish and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Zero maanges to regain guard straight away.
Zero is rocked!
It looks like Sub Zero has been cut. Zero keeping moving, preventing Fish from controlling successfully. Fish stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zero swivels though and keeps the full guard. Zero will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fish wants to get up but he can't break Zero's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Fish trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Fish wants to control from the top but Zero keeps moving. Zero is looking to sinch up a triangle. Fish throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Zero's body to avoid the submission. Zero has instead reached around Fish's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Zero arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Sub Zero! Sub Zero retains his middleweight title!
