Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 69 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sutarjo Sukarman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mickey Backman!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters circling a little - Backman finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Sukarman looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
A chopping leg kick lands by Backman.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sukarman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Backman.
Sukarman takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

and Backman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Sukarman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sukarman tries to get out of the position.
Backman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Backman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sukarman is bucking up trying to escape but Backman cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Backman wants to control the pace but Sukarman is squirming around nicely.
Backman working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Sukarman looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Backman! Submission of the night perhaps?
