Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Wolford (ranked 24943 p4p, 6144 weight class) and Horus Anubis (ranked 651 p4p, 594 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wolford misses with a straight left.
Wolford catches Anubis with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Wolford looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wolford dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Anubis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wolford.
Wolford tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Anubis was well out of range. Poor timing from Wolford.
Wolford looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wolford lands a nice short elbow.
Anubis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Anubis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wolford can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

and Wolford counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Anubis's coach down at Gumburcules Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Anubis's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Wolford seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Anubis for as long as he can get away with.

A looping hook to the body misses from Wolford. Anubis does a little dance to reset his feet.

Rodney Wolford has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Horus Anubis.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anubis blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Wolford is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Anubis can't fight it off and eventually Wolford manages to take the fight to the floor. Anubis looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Anubis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wolford is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Anubis.

Wolford cracks Anubis with a big right hand but Anubis just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Wolford cracks Anubis with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Anubis from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Wolford lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Wolford lands a good shot there. Anubis covers up! Wolford smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Anubis to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Wolford jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!
