Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben Muvaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnny Munoz! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Munoz throws a right and a left that Muvaka avoids nicely. Muvaka is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Munoz. Muvaka definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Muvaka defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Munoz. Muvaka seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Munoz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Muvaka is looking to counter the offense by Munoz and move into the clinch. Muvaka showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Munoz.
Munoz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Muvaka on his heels. He'll look to pass Muvaka's guard now, I'm sure. Muvaka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Muvaka tries to get out of the position. Muvaka is looking to stand up but Munoz isn't so interested in that idea. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Munoz throws a big elbow that misses. Muvaka trying to keep a closed guard but Munoz is proving a slippery customer.
Munoz chips away with some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Munoz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Muvaka's head. Munoz content to stall in guard here. Munoz is looking to work some ground and pound but Muvaka has wrist control. Munoz works a leg free and moves into half guard. Munoz drops an elbow to the side of Muvaka's head. Nice strikes from Munoz there. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Munoz connects with a nice short shot to Muvaka's temple. Munoz winds up and cracks Muvaka with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Muvaka looks like he's trying to stand up.
Munoz is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Munoz in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Munoz with shots to the head and body - Muvaka looks very uncomfortable down there. Munoz landing punches.
Muvaka is rocked! Munoz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Oooooh, big shot lands for Munoz! Muvaka is hurt baaadly! Munoz is firing away with more strikes - Muvaka is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
