Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ionas Demetriou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kugus Amiga!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demetriou throws a hook to the side of Amiga's head but Amiga sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Amiga counters with a body kick.
Demetriou misses the jab.
Despite the aggression on Amiga's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Amiga is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Demetriou's half guard.
Demetriou looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Amiga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Demetriou. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Demetriou is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Amiga pulls his head out easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Demetriou is trying to maintain the position but Amiga is very close to passing his half guard.

Demetriou has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Amiga. Oh but Demetriou has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Amiga goes limp - he's gone! Demetriou jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ionas Demetriou!
After the fight, Ionas Demetriou was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
