Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Gionet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gionet comes to the cage accompanied by "Your Going Down" by Sick Puppies. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Gionet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Devon Rex!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex tries to clinch up but Gionet circles away and keeps his distance.
Rex tries to close the distance and clinch but Gionet swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rex fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gionet swats away the attempt to clinch by Rex.
Gionet shoots in but no luck this time.
Rex drives through and clinches with Gionet against the cage.
Rex throws a knee to the head but misses.
Gionet swings wildly with an uppercut but Rex uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gionet tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gionet jumps guard.
Rex wants to get up but he can't break Gionet's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Rex stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gionet swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gionet is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gionet is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rex doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gionet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rex wants to get back to full guard.
Gionet works his way into side control.
Rex prevents Gionet from improving position.
Rex is trying to buck Gionet off.
Gionet controlling the position.
Rex is trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gionet is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rex looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gionet gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rex is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gionet lets go of the hold and Rex can pop his arm back in it's socket.
