The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rojo circles away.
Matthews is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rojo lands a big right hand that sends Matthews crashing to the mat! Rojo stays standing though and waves Matthews back to his feet!
Matthews is rocked!
Matthews drives through with a takedown into guard.
Matthews is still in real trouble! Can Rojo finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matthews drops back looking for a leg! Rojo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rojo manages to kick Matthews off! Matthews jumps back into Rojo's guard.
Matthews passes Rojo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Matthews seems to have recovered his senses.
Matthews is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rojo defends it well.
Matthews maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Rojo could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Matthews has cracked it and Rojo is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Matthews!
