The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peitheiyan avoids the head kick by Thompson.
Brian Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peitheiyan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Peitheiyan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thompson but Thompson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Thompson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Thompson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peitheiyan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thompson somewhat.
Peitheiyan wants to counter with a clinch but Thompson pushes him away.
Thompson throws a series of strikes that have Peitheiyan backpedaling.
Thompson has a takedown stuffed.

Thompson drops Peitheiyan with a beautiful combination! Peitheiyan stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Thompson is looking for the KO!

Thompson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Peitheiyan is still on wobbly legs! Can Thompson finish him?
Thompson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Thompson has his foot on Peitheiyan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Peitheiyan works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Peitheiyan won't allow Thompson to sweep him here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Thompson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Peitheiyan, pushing him back against the cage.
Peitheiyan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Thompson.
Thompson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Peitheiyan to keep the fight standing.

Thompson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thompson lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Peitheiyan goes down and covers up as Thompson starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
