Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Wilson (ranked 4509 p4p, 5552 weight class) and Kai Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kai Walsh is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kai Walsh!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walsh closes the distance and clinches up with Wilson, looking for a takedown. Walsh pushes Wilson against the cage but Wilson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wilson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Wilson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kai Walsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A shot to the liver by Wilson. Beautiful body shot.
Wilson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wilson wants it to stay on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Walsh or perhaps it was just good defense by Wilson, which made it look bad.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Walsh is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wilson is just riding it out for now. Walsh eventually gives up the hold.
Wilson is looking for a sweep. Walsh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Wilson is looking to control Walsh's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wilson avoid being mounted?

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Walsh is trying to control the action in half guard but Wilson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Walsh moves into the clinch.
Wilson is trying to break the clinch but Walsh has him pressed against the cage.

Walsh escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Walsh is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wilson defends well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Walsh is trying to control the position but Wilson postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Wilson swings for the body but Walsh moves out of range.

Walsh tries to keep at a distance but Wilson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Walsh works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Wilson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Walsh off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Wilson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Walsh's waist but Walsh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wilson off to one side.
Wilson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Wilson there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jason Wilson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wilson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Walsh swivels and escapes.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Walsh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Wilson is looking to clinch but Walsh is avoiding it.
Wilson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walsh tries to avoid it but Wilson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walsh to the ground. Walsh escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Walsh dives in and grabs Wilson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wilson pushes down on Walsh's head and hops out.
Walsh ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Walsh bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Walsh is trying to get an arm triangle but Wilson is defending well.
Wilson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wilson is not content to let Walsh control the position.

Walsh is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wilson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Walsh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working.
Walsh in side control lands a decent elbow.
Wilson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Walsh tries to control but Wilson wriggling away.

Walsh takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Walsh is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Wilson is defending well though. Walsh let's go of the attempt for now.

Kai Walsh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Walsh goes for a double leg but Wilson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wilson continues to drive forward.
Wilson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Walsh sprawls and moves away.
Walsh slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Wilson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Walsh but Walsh pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wilson jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Walsh takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Walsh closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wilson to the mat! Wilson manages to get full guard.

Wilson has his feet on Walsh's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wilson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Walsh lands the left hand.
Wilson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Walsh sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wilson somewhat.

Walsh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wilson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Walsh isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Wilson stacks Walsh on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Wilson!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wilson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Walsh's shoulder. That is not cool.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Walsh is trying to control Wilson's posture but Wilson avoids it.
Walsh tries to improve position but can't.

Wilson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Jab, jab by Walsh - just one landing.

Walsh rushes Wilson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Walsh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jason Wilson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kai Walsh is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Walsh is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Kai Walsh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Walsh has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
