This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 32 wins and 38 losses; Roman Boesku! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 9 losses; David McDonald! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? McDonald closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Boesku did well to prevent McDonald getting side control. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Boesku (0) vs (2) McDonald McDonald is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
McDonald is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Boesku still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Boesku has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Boesku (4) vs (2) McDonald Boesku tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Boesku working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McDonald is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDonald is not content to let Boesku control the position. McDonald tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Boesku wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. McDonald is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Boesku's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Boesku looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Boesku keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boesku's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boesku trying to control from McDonald's half guard. McDonald has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Boesku is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Boesku tries to free his leg and advance position but McDonald is retaining full guard. Boesku preventing the sweep. McDonald is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boesku defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boesku seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Boesku pushing down on McDonald's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. We've been hearing good reports from Boesku's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Boesku keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Boesku is keen to just control but McDonald is a slippery customer.

Not yet McDonald, not yet. McDonald is looking to cinch up a triangle. Boesku throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to McDonald's body to avoid the submission. McDonald has instead reached around Boesku's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! McDonald arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
