The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilha lands with an uppercut that bounces Fox off the cage and back into range.

Fox shoots for a takedown but Padilha saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Horrible takedown attempt by Fox or perhaps it was just good defense by Padilha, which made it look bad.

Fox dives in and grabs Padilha's left leg, looking for a takedown. Padilha pushes down on Fox's head and hops out.
Afonso Padilha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nik Fox.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fox drops his hands momentarily and Padilha takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Afonso Padilha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Padilha slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

A punch lands to the side of Fox 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Padilha tests Fox's chin there with a solid looking shot.

A decent looking cross lands there for Padilha.
Padilha closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Fox! Padilha dives in looking to finish! Fox is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
