The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brusellsprouts clinches with his opponent.
Johnson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brusellsprouts pulls his leg out and moves away.
Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brusellsprouts is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Johnson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Johnson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brusellsprouts sees it coming and defends easily.
Brusellsprouts wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson is taking a breather. Brusellsprouts says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Brusellsprouts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Brusellsprouts is defending well.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brusellsprouts is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Johnson is staying tight to Brusellsprouts's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Johnson is working to tighten his grip on Brusellsprouts's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Brusellsprouts has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Johnson is really squeezing tight and eventually Brusellsprouts passes out! Johnson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
