PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Un Kha (ranked 5834 p4p, 3630 weight class) and Lukasz Kurzawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kha comes to the cage accompanied by Eye of the tiger. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Un Kha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lukasz Kurzawa!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurzawa throws a lazy right hand but Kha sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
As Kurzawa backs away, Kha returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Kurzawa jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kurzawa misses the body punch
and Kha counters with a stiff right hand.

Kurzawa rushes Kha and presses him up against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kurzawa takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Kha wants a takedown.
Kha has Kurzawa pressed against the cage, preventing Kurzawa from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kurzawa continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

A looping hook to the body misses from Kurzawa. Kha does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kurzawa throws a nice looking combination but Kha bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
As Kurzawa backs away, Kha returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Kha uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kurzawa.
Kurzawa has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Kha counters with a series of strikes. Kurzawa will be more careful next time no doubt.

Kha shoots in but no luck this time.

Kha throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kurzawa's waist but Kurzawa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kha off to one side.
Kurzawa swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Kha gets tackled into the cage by Kurzawa. Kurzawa maintains the clinch.

Kurzawa lands a hook that snaps the head of Kha backwards.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kurzawa - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Kha appears to be looking for a big counter.
Lukasz Kurzawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kurzawa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kha tries to counter by clinching up but Kurzawa breaks away and moves out of range.
Kha shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kurzawa but Kurzawa pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kha is looking to counter the offense by Kurzawa and move into the clinch.
Kurzawa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kurzawa wants it to stay on the feet.
Kha is breathing heavily.
Kurzawa throws a jab when Kha was well out of range.

Kurzawa cracks Kha with a nice body shot.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Lukasz Kurzawa dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kha avoids a punch combination nicely.
It looked like Kha was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Kurzawa throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kha counters with a low kick, right behind Kurzawa 's knee.

Kurzawa drops Kha with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kha looks back up at him and smiles so Kurzawa waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Kurzawa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
No luck for Kha with that takedown attempt.

Kurzawa unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Kha! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Kurzawa is unloading with more strikes now! Kha drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
