Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Makoto Toda (ranked 5031 p4p, 25633 weight class) and Nik Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 530 weight class). The key to victory for Makoto Toda has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Makoto Toda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nik Fox!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Donatello Bradman and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toda gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Toda lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Fox manages to pull guard.
Toda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fox swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Toda postures up in Fox's guard and throws a big left but Fox blocks it.
Toda trying to control the position from guard on top but Fox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Toda trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Toda has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fox keeping moving, preventing Toda from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Toda looking to pass the guard.
Fox avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Toda makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Toda is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fox has managed to free his arm - good work.
Toda is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fox is just riding it out for now. Toda eventually gives up the hold.
Fox has hold of Toda's hands but Toda slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ground and pound from Toda.
Toda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fox keeps working.
Toda thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fox's head.

Toda looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Toda is looking for a kimura but Fox is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Toda to get the leverage.
Toda is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Toda is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Toda works his way into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fox wants to control but Toda is having none of it.
Toda working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Toda trying to control but Fox is having none of it.
Toda looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Toda is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Fox can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Toda is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fox is surviving well by controlling Toda's body position as best he can.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Toda drops Fox with a beautiful combination! Fox stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Toda is looking for the KO!

Toda closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Toda is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fox has escaped the position, nice work there.

Toda has hold of Fox's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Fox seems comfortable defending it but Toda has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Fox is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Fox is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Toda couldn't care less - he's delighted!
