Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kashton Pearce (ranked 4320 p4p, 4372 weight class) and Omari Django (ranked 537 p4p, 540 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kashton Pearce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearce circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pearce attempts a counter takedown but Django avoids it well and moves away.
Django shoots for a double leg takedown but Pearce sprawls well. He's pushed Django's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pearce throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Django shoots in for a takedown but Pearce shows good takedown defense.
No joy there for Pearce, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Django shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pearce but Pearce pushes him off and we're back to square one.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pearce lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Django is looking for a sweep. Pearce is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Django is trying to escape back to his feet but Pearce uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Django tries to buck Pearce off but Pearce is having none of it.
Pearce throws a strike aimed at the side of Django's head but Django avoids it well.
Django is trying to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Pearce counters with a low kick, right behind Django 's knee.
Pearce feints and as Django raises his hands in defense, Pearce changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Django is trying to keep Pearce in close.
Pearce trying to control the position from guard on top but Django is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pearce slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Django throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pearce escapes and throws Django's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Django manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Pearce is controlling Django's trapped leg to prevent Django from advancing to side control.

Django is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pearce doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Django.
Django is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Pearce is trying to maintain the position but Django is very close to passing his half guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kashton Pearce.
