Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Drake Jones (ranked 2799 p4p, 3102 weight class) and Mei Ozaki (ranked 236 p4p, 254 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Drake Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Mei Ozaki!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones avoids the head kick by Ozaki.
Ozaki blocks a leg kick.
Jones checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ozaki misses with a head kick.
Ozaki lands a nice looking body kick.
Ozaki tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jones is trying to trip Ozaki. He has hold of a leg but Ozaki is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jones persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Ozaki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.

Ozaki walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jones checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ozaki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jones winds up and cracks Ozaki with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Ozaki's temple.
Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Ozaki is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Jones slips a nice elbow through Ozaki's hands, connecting with Ozaki's forehead.

Drake Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ozaki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
