The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayweather misses with a takedown attempt - Mayo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mayweather fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Tony Mayo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Mayweather.

Mayo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Mayweather wants to sweep but no luck.
Mayo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mayweather on the ground.

Mayo wants to stand and escape but instead Mayweather has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mayweather stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mayo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mayweather stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mayo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mayweather is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mayo closes the distance and clinches.
Mayweather lands a body punch in the clinch.

Mayo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Mayo is breathing heavily.
Mayweather is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mayo tries to roll over but Mayweather keeps him under control.

Mayweather is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mayo defends it well.

Mayweather has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mayo defend it? Mayweather steps over the head and cranks it - Mayo is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mayweather!
