Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Hinkle (ranked 1379 p4p, 1460 weight class) and John Entwhistle (ranked 205 p4p, 219 weight class). Hinkle comes to the cage accompanied by 3 Hour Tour. Roy Hinkle had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roy Hinkle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Entwhistle! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Hinkle or perhaps it was just good defense by Entwhistle, which made it look bad. Entwhistle now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Entwhistle throws a series of punches but Hinkle moves out of range. Nice defenses there by Hinkle. Hinkle appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Hinkle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Entwhistle swings for the body but Hinkle moves out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hinkle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Hinkle. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hinkle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Entwhistle tries to avoid it but Hinkle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Entwhistle to the ground. Entwhistle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hinkle fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Entwhistle jabs Hinkle to the body, keeping him at a distance. Entwhistle throws a body punch but Hinkle moves out of range. Entwhistle misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hinkle.
Entwhistle lands with a shot to the body. Hinkle closes this distance looking for a takedown but Entwhistle circles away. Hinkle looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hinkle drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Entwhistle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hinkle. Hinkle missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Entwhistle controlling the position. Hinkle lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hinkle controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Hinkle content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hinkle postures up and lands a big shot to Entwhistle's brow. Hinkle is looking to work some ground and pound but Entwhistle has wrist control. Hinkle with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. This has been an exciting period of action! Hinkle postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hinkle throwing strikes but missing. Entwhistle looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Entwhistle is trying to keep Hinkle in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hinkle makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hinkle is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hinkle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hinkle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hinkle controlling from the top position. Entwhistle can't keep his opponent in guard - Hinkle advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hinkle perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hinkle is looking to take a break and control but Entwhistle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hinkle working Entwhistle over with strikes. Hinkle is trying to control the action in half guard but Entwhistle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nice strikes from Hinkle there. Hinkle is controlling the pace.
Entwhistle controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Hinkle drops an elbow to the side of Entwhistle's head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hinkle is nestled in close to Entwhistle, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Hinkle dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Hinkle slips a straight right by Entwhistle. Hinkle tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Entwhistle defends well and Hinkle ends up having to push Entwhistle into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Entwhistle lands a body punch. Entwhistle lands an uppercut. Hinkle is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Entwhistle is defending well. Hinkle tries to pull guard but Entwhistle won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Hinkle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Entwhistle lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hinkle backwards. Entwhistle scores with a hook to the body. Hinkle's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A nice left hand lands by Entwhistle.
Entwhistle pushes Hinkle back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Entwhistle manages to break the clinch.
Entwhistle wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Entwhistle connects with a looping right hand.
It looks like Roy Hinkle has been cut. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Entwhistle bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. John Entwhistle seems to be getting the better of the standup. Entwhistle misses with a few strikes there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hinkle with a poor takedown and Entwhistle counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Hinkle blocks a jab. Hinkle takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Entwhistle with a hook. Entwhistle scores with a shot to the body.
Entwhistle paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hinkle is rocked! Entwhistle misses with a straight right. Hinkle slips under a jab from Entwhistle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hinkle with a poor takedown and Entwhistle counters with a nice uppercut. Oh Hinkle is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Entwhistle ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hinkle seems to have got his legs back now. Entwhistle scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hinkle doesn't seem bothered though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Entwhistle closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Hinkle! Entwhistle dives in looking to finish! Hinkle is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
